Thomas Jefferson letters to James Ronaldson and the Reverend Frederick Beasley [manuscript], 1813, [1823].

Jefferson writes on 1813 January 12 to James Ronaldson concerning farming and gardening activities and his views on the war. Mentions cork tree from Paris, olives from Aix, sainfoin from Malta, and acorns from Marseilles as well as African rice in Georgia and Kentucky. Also mentions household manufactures, Marine hospitals, seamen, Albert Gallatin, grain trade with enemies, and war in the Iberian Peninsula and the Baltic. In an 1823 letter to the Reverend Frederick Beasley, Jefferson expresses his thanks for Beasley's book "Search of Truth in the Science of the Human Mind."
